Poppy Places was established as a World War One centenary commemorative initiative.

Its strong interest and uptake over the years have been a fitting reflection of the vision and commitment of its founders and trustees, and our nation's contribution in World War One.

In 2024, the Royal New Zealand Returned and Services’ Association (RNZRSA) assumed responsibility for the Trust’s work.

Due to competing organisational priorities, a decision has been made to convert the website to a static format. This will preserve the existing content and maintain a valuable repository of information for future use, including potential commemorative activities. With a standards-compliant web browser, the content is available for use.

Poppy Places is no longer accepting new applications.
